BAD THINGS FOR BAD REASONS

1 Chronicles 10
1. Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. 2. And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul. 3. And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers. 4. Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
War is a bad thing, and bad comes from sin and evil. Here a family of men was wiped out. What caused this war? I want what you have. I am meaner than you. Get out of my way. People can sometimes have bad reasons for doing bad things. Let's get back to doing good things for good reasons-PASTOR JOE

My Family

1 kings 2:1. Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.
When and why did we forget God's plan for the family.
His plan is simple:
Dad loves Mama.
Mama loves Dad.
They love the children.
The children love them.
They live together, and do fun things together.
They go to church together.
They pray together and stay together.
Simple-let's get back to it-PASTOR JOE

WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?

2 Kings 1: 3. But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?
The king of Samaria was talking to a false god- a dead god-a useless god.
God sent Elijah to stop them from such a foolish act.
Who do we talk to?
Who do we listen to?
Do we listen to God?
The Bible helps us to hear Him. Prayer sure helps if done correctly. There are Godly people to talk with.
Who do we talk to?
Think about it-PASTOR JOE

My Way

HERE IS WHAT MY NEW BOOK LOOKS LIKE-MAY GOD USE IT FOR HIS GLORY...

STUDY FOR TODAY..................
1 Kings 1:5. Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
David the king was now old and about to die. Adonijah gets it in his head that he wanted to be king, and so he tried to be.
But there is a problem. He had no right to be king. It was not God's will for him to be king. But he wanted to be king. NOT...
We don't always get our way. Do we desire for God's will to be done? Is it what I want or what God wants?

Pray for Janice Stancil's family today as her funeral will be at 11. Pray for me as I share in the service-PASTOR JOE

Janice Stancil passes

Last night the call came-Louise,Pat, Rabbit and I headed to the hospital. Janice was dying. The cancer was taking its victim. But love and the christian way of thinking was in the room and hall. There was God talk. Prayers were prayed; love was shared. 8:45 pm she passed to her reward. She went to be present with the Lord. Tears were shed, and more prayers, hugs, and sharing of emotions. Shock was real. Feelings were shared. God was there.
Janice had dealt with cancer for 3 years and 3 months. Now heaven awaited no more for her. She will be missed, but she is in a better place, awaiting those prepared to join her.
Thank God for the Bible, for love, for hope- PASTOR JOE

WHEN GOOD NEWS IS BAD

2 SAMUEL 1: 8. And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. 9. He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me. 10. So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.
This man was giving David what he thought was good news with a slight twist-he made himself a hero, which was not true. He thought David would love the good news. A few moments later David had the man killed for David found this as bad news.
Let me point out that sometimes we are wrong. What we see as good, others may well see as bad. But the big question is-how does God see it?
Think about it-read your Bible-seek wise advice-pray-be careful. Is it good or bad? PASTOR JOE

1 Samuel 1: 5. But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the Lord had shut up her womb.
There are those who think you can buy God and others.
There are those who are nice to others-we need more of those.
God does things we sometimes don't understand. Is God being mean to this precious woman? No God has a better plan-trust Him.
Hannah became a woman of serious prayer, and when God answered her prayer-wow!
Is God being mean to you? Perhaps He is setting up something better-PASTOR JOE

A Classy Lady

Ruth 1:16. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
The story of Ruth is filled with sadness, and love.
Here we read of a woman who shows class by staying with her mother-in-law after the death of their husbands.
How many women of class do we have today?
So many are sold out to the wrong things. Ruth was a classy woman. Ladies let your class show.
Have a Jesus filled weekend-PASTOR JOE

God Takes Care of His

Judges 1: 4. And Judah went up; and the Lord delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
The people of God were facing a very tough foe, but God took care of them, and they did well.
The problems we face are often very tough, but the same God will take care of us in His way and timing-trust Him.
Are we part of the family of God-we all can be. TRUST HIM-life will be better now and later-PASTOR JOE

God loves to bless

Joshua 1: 2. Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
Life goes on even after the great one Moses had passed. God's plan for his people was for them to enter the promised land, and He would bless them greatly.
Would they go? Could God bless them as He desired? See what did happen by reading Joshua.
Have a great one-PASTOR JOE

DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!

Deut. 1: 3. And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;
God told Moses what He wanted the children of Israel to do. These were not suggestions, but commands.
Our mind set is nobody tells me what to do, and look at the mess we have made. Has it ever occured maybe God does know best? Let's try it, and see.
Study your Bible and try what it says-the world would be a better place-PASTOR JOE

Yes, family is important

Numbers 1
1. And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2. Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
The backbone of our world is our family. The family is important to us and to God. God has given us helpful info on how to have good families, and it is found in the Bible-check it out.... PASTOR JOE

SACRIFICE

Leviticus 1
1. And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, 2. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock. 3. If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
To the early Jews sacrifice was very important, and necessary. They wanted to be right with God. Do we?
In the passing of time we learn that Jesus paid the sacrifice for our sins, if we trust Him as our Savour. But, sacrifice is still needed and useful in the work of the Lord. The sacrifice is different. We offer ourselves in service for the Lord. How good are we at that? How often do we sacrifice for Jesus-if ever?
Think about it and have a great one-PASTOR JOE

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Exodus 1:6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. 7. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
Joseph was a difference maker. I want to challenge all of us to make a difference while we can. The day will pass, and we will be done. Make a difference while we can.
Be an influence.
Be a doer.
Live for the Lord.
Set a good example.
Be a friend.

Genesis 1:1

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God....
The Bible is clear and simple.
The Bible tells the truth.
The devil and all his demons scream "no".
But the truth stands. Believe it.
God is God. God is good.
God has a plan.
God loves us.
God wants to bless and use us for His glory.
Love Him, honor Him, serve Him, enjoy Him. PASTOR JOE

Study-you are kidding?

2 Timothy 2: 15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
As led by the Spirit of God, Paul tells Timothy to study. Do we also need to study.
Preacher, study what? The Bible...
That is hard.
That is work, and I am busy.
I am lazy, except when it comes to fun.
God says study, and understand, and know deeply the Bible.
I will leave that to the preachers-NO,NO...
Get busy doing what is really needful-PASTOR JOE

ALERT

LUKE 8:12. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
THE devil is real. Yes, even today. Let me sound a warning to those who have dropped out of church for whatever reason-none good by the way.
The devil is all out at war to get us all to stop reading our Bibles, and he is doing a great job.
Why does the devil not want us to read the Bible?
If we read the Bible we hear how to get right with God, and we might get saved.
We need to be a christian, and the key is read the Bible.
We need to be a good christian, and the key is to read the Bible.
So, heed the warning which is twofold:
Don't quit church.
Don't stop reading the Bible.
Have a blessed day-PASTOR JOE

GOD BLESS THE USA

GOD SO DESIRES TO BLESS US ALL.
HERE IS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET THAT BLESSING-
2 CHRON. 7: 14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
HUMBLE OURSELVES BEFORE GOD.
PRAY TO GOD.
SEEK THE FACE OF GOD.
TURN FROM OUR SINS-YES THERE ARE SINS.
THEN, GOD WILL HEAR OUR PRAYERS, AND ONLY THEN.
HE WILL FORGIVE OUR SINS, AND
WILL HEAL OUR LAND-BOY DO WE NEED THAT.
SO, THERE IT IS- GOD BLESS THE USA-PASTOR JOE
