Be Sensitive

The Lord speaks, and the Lord desires that we be servants, not bullies. Many desire acclaim, money and power, but God calls us to be servants. A servant doesn't give orders, but follows them.
Lord, what do You want me to do,now? Church, what do You want me to do now? Be sensitive to the Word, the Lord, and His will as He speaks to us in many different ways.
Have a super weekend- PASTOR JOE

Back again

I so much enjoyed the pastor's Bible study. 12 sermons in 2 days time-wow!!! It was such a blessing to sit at the feet on great scholars. Great fellowship with fellow pastors and staff members of other churches. I am so blessed to be where I am and have such great friends.
I was challenged to understand Christ in me the hope of the world. Christ in me-wow!!! me-yes, and He desires to be in you, too.
You have a great one, and thanks for reading the blog today-PASTOR JOE

Study the Word

We should study the Word, most stay too busy. No excuses, please. None are good enough. I will the next 3 days be studying the Word with about 20 preachers at a retreat. Thank You Lord. I am telling you because I will be at a mountain retreat with no internet, so I will blog again on Thursday- take care and God bless-PASTOR JOE

What do we take for granted?

One of the things we learn when we are real sick is what we take for granted. A ride, a meal out, being with friends, church, feeling good, and the list could go on and on.
We don't pause enough and say."Lord thanks for all our blessings." Perhaps now would be a good time to do that-PASTOR JOE

Time for Action

Promises have been made, but now is the time for actions. Words are often what we want to hear, but now do it.
We Christians are being watched so closely. Our actions show what we really are. What does our actions show us to be?
Please let this be a wake up call, and let's be all we should be-PASTOR JOE

Some better

This broncitius that my wife and I have had has been tuff. I have not enjoyed being sick. I have not enjoyed not getting close to my friends, and I don't blame them for avoiding us. Finally, I am better, and hoping to avoid a relapse.
The thought of being some better brings to mind- that's a major miracle- several things I would like to share with you, please.
Are we some better?
What do we need to do to get some better?
Are we willing to do somethings to get some better as a person?
Let's get better-PASTOR JOE

A Day for History

Today is a special day like none other ever. Today we have a new president. It will be a time for change, and a time of change. Will the change be for the better-only time will tell.
Lord, I ask that You bless our new president and all that make up his goverment. I pray for You to give him wisdom, and for Your guidance over him. Bless congress, and all those who help lead our country. God bless America. And while You are doing that go ahead and bless the whole world, and may they all know who did it- PASTOR JOE

WAKE UP AND LISTEN

Ezekiel 11:9-10
9. And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
10. Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
The Lord loves us so much, and He allows us to suffer for our sins. Our culture today protects at all costs. People need to know sin hurts. Sin is bad. Bad things happen if we sin. A loving God warns us about this. Are we listening? PASTOR JOE

What you feared comes to pass

Ezekiel 11:7-8
7. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.
God has something to say- are we listening? Wake up...
You are wrong, and soon things will prove you wrong. What are we wrong about? According to the Bible what are we wrong about? Do we know? Do we care?
8. Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord God.
The very thing they feared will come to pass. Is that true for us? Think about it- Get into a Bible teaching church this weekend-PASTOR JOE

Deeper in the Word

Ezekiel 11:5-6
5. And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.
Here we learn that God reads minds-oh, no. He reads your mind, and He reads my mind. What do we think-He knows. Is He pleased? Does it matter?
6. Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.
The people of God had godless minds and so bad things was to happen as a result- many of them would die in their streets.
You may say I don't like that kind of teaching, that is Old Testament. God doesn't change, and He doesn't like impure thoughts. Listen up. Be smart for a change.

Ezekiel 11:3-4

As I promised yesterday, today we get back to some Bible study.
Ezekiel 11:3-4. 3.Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.
What is not near? An enemy attack. This is a good time to build nice houses. WRONG. These religious/political leaders were wrong. They felt they were in a safe POT. They had not really sought the Lord. They wanted what they wanted-sad. Are we like that today?
4. Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

God had a message for them- against them, and God desired for Ezekiel to preach that message.
Sometimes we need to be preached at. Can our preachers share such a message?
Think on the matters and tomorrow more to come-PASTOR JOE

Broncitius Still

Louise and I both did go to the doctor yesterday. Dr. Welborn saw us both at the same time. He has been our doctor for almost 40 years. We both still have broncitius. Round 2 of meds.
Pray for Wanda's mother as she deals with a stroke and recovery. She is in the hospital.
Starting tomorrow we will continue Bible study. Have a great day. I have to carry Mother to another doctor today- so much for avoiding people-PASTOR JOE

Doing the best we can

Sometimes the best we can do is all we can do. Yesterday was a day to remember for sure. I clearly was only able to do the best I could with what I had. Broncitius slowed me down, but I did the best I could, and God blessed it.
It was different not shaking hands, and not being at the back door to greet those as they left. People were understanding, and nice, but I did miss the close fellowship.
I shared two messages that God put on my heart, we had two great solos yesterday, and the choir did a great job-glory be to God. That is the bottom line.
Today, I am to try to take Mother to the doctor, and later I go to the doctor again.
You have a good one-PASTOR JOE

Getting Better

That is a wonderful thing-getting better. When we are sick, we desire to get better. When we play a sport, we desire to get better. When we look at our bank account, we desire to get better. When we think about being a christian, are we getting better?
How can we get better? What will help us get better? I am sure you have some thought about that. What are we doing to become a better Christian?
Think about it, and get busy becoming a better Christian- PASTOR JOE

A Sick Church

This is a tough time of the year. I was not able to go to church last night and the numbers reflected that many others couldn't either. We were way off. Rabbit spoke on Wise men I was told, and did a great job. We are so blessed to have him as backup.
Cold, flu, viruses, broncitius-boo. One thing I have learned from this is breathing is nice, and don't take it for granted.
I do hope you have a nice day, and don't take anything for granted-PASTOR JOE

THIS IS NO FUN

Not for a moment do I feel life is always fun, but this being sick is no fun. Meds help, but I strongly desire to be myself- well and active. I do plan to be at church tonight, but I will keep my distance. Later today I will work on Ezekiel 11 for tonight.
When one is not well we do desire for the calls and concern of others. No chicken soup yet either- sad...
It does feel bad to feel bad. It is hard to focus the mind. I hear someone say-what mind. Thanks...
So please pray for me as I pray for you, and remember to smell the roses while you can-PASTOR JOE

What did we do?

They say what we did on New Years Day we will do all year. So they question becomes-"What did we do News Years Day?"
I spend most of mine watching football and eating with good friends. Louise worked, and joined us later. These friends and us have been doing this on New Years for many years. Sadly 3 of us coughed with these bad colds or whatever it is.
I read some in a special study Bible. Talked on the phone with a brother and sister.
So, what did you do? What will we do often in 2009? PASTOR JOE

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I pray that you and I shall enjoy a happy 2009. The Lord loves to bless, and He loves us-glory!
May our dreams come true. May God open the windows of heaven and just richly bless us, so that we can richly bless others.
May we win souls, and enjoy the fellowship of other christians.
Again, I say, "HAPPY NEW YEAR' PASTOR JOE
