Paul Slaton's funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm at Refuge Church. The visitation will be tonight from 6-8 at Duckets of Central. Our Sunday School class will be honor escort. Tonya will sing 2 of his favorites. I will be the pastor. God bless the family and friends.
Jude 25. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
God alone is wise.
God saves those who believe on Jesus as personal savior.
God deserves glory and majesty.
God is in charge of all-He has the final word.
God controls and has all power.
And what God has He has now and forever more.
Amen-it is so.... What a God we serve!

JUDE 24. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To be a christian is to have special help from the Lord. He will keep us from falling into sin and hell, and He will present us faultless in eternity. Jesus will enable us to enjoy His glory, and that is a source of joy to Him-wow! What a saviour! Enjoy Jesus-PASTOR JOE

Please pray for my friend Paul Slaton- he is in ICU- having trouble breathing. He is 92, a church member. in my Sunday school class, and is a humble great guy. The family has been called in. Glad he is a christian.

Jude 23. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Do we care about others? Do we believe in eternity? Do we believe what the Bible teaches about Hell? If so we would not want anyone to go there, and she do what we can to make sure they don't.
Do we believe that sin hurts people? If we do then we should do all we can,especially praying, to separate sin from our beloved ones.
Lord help us to care about others-PASTOR JOE

Remember the brave men and women who faced death so we can have our freedoms. God bless them one and all.
Jude 22. And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Do we love others or only ourselves? If we are right with God we will be people of compassion. Who do we care about? Who cares about us? God does-glory!
Today is a good day to reflect on compassion-PASTOR JOE

Jude 21. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Allow me to point out 3 things we need:
1. To stay in love with the Lord.
2. Look to Him for mercy-we all need it.
3. Rejoice that Jesus gives us eternal life.

Jude 20. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Several key points jumb out:
1. We are loved-thank God.
2. We can build ourselves up or tear ourselves down. Which are we doing?
3. How do we build ourselves up?
4. What kind of faith do we have? Is it where it should be?
5. Is our faith holy to us? Is it very holy to us?
6. Praying as we are led by the Hol Spirit helps us to build up our faith.
Lord, help me be my best for You and Your glory-PASTOR JOE

Jude 19. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the spirit.
Some people want just enough religion to miss Hell, but it is not religion that makes one right with God,it is a relationship with Jesus that enables one to miss Hell.
People make choices- am I going to be controled by my emotions or by God's Spirit? Many make the easy choice, and become separated from God.
Some find the great joy in being a Spirit led person-knowing the Lord, joy, peace, and hope. What a difference Jesus makes. Try it-PASTOR JOE

Jude 18. How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
I love to study the Bible- to know what God says. You may listen to whoever you desire, but I want to hear from God.
We do live in a time when Bible believers are made fun of. Are we in the last time-no doubt...
People are led by their desires and not by anything else-true.
So this verse also says that these desires are against God. Is that true or not. So few care about pleasing God, or to even know Him.
Think seriously on these matters-PASTOR JOE

What a weekend. Saturday I was with some great people-Danny and Cheryl, and Paula. Then we flew in 2 planes from Washington DC to finally Ashville NC. Lunch stop-of course-nice ride home-stopped by my precious aunt Lib's-who had made me a apricot cobbler pie-glory!!! Then home to my wonderful wife Louise. My brother Paul came to visit. I went to be with a family in sorrow-a sister had passed. Called to check on a new born and its Mother-doing well. To bed early and that was just Saturday.
Sunday- Deacons meeting-morning worship-spoke on Nicodemas-out to lunch with family and friends-did a funeral of a friend's sister-short nap-6- preached on Lessons from Nehemiah-brief deacons meeting-supper out with 12 church friends-fell into bed-what a weekend-God bless you-PASTOR JOE

We are 10 miles from Dullas Airport- in just a little while we shall go to my uncle Hub's funeral at 11. Please do pray for the family and me. I shall have a part in the service-what an honor.
We have a loving family who loves to laugh and enjoy the christian life. Tomorrow I shall be flying back- hope my arms don't get too tired.

It is 9pm and I am in Baltimore Maryland. We have just gotten back from seeing my uncle's body-the remains of one of my favorite people in the world. We visited in the home with the family, and was with them as the viewing started.
We had 2 flights today to get here. It hurts so bad to see someone you love dead, but thank God for heaven.
Tomorrow I need yoour prayers as I shall share at my uncle's funeral. God bless you and yours-PASTOR JOE

Jude 17. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
We are people loved by God. He loves you and me-wow!
Somethings we need to forget, and somethings we need to remember.
Somethings are so important we must remember them. The words of the apostles need to be remembered. How do we remember them? By reading them over and over. Let me encourage you to read often the New Testament for it will bless your soul.

Jude 16. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
What can get wrong with a person? What does a person act like that is out of God's favor? To put it in simple terms- God doesn't like:
1. those who murmur-always down on everything.
2. those who complain most or all the time.
3. those controlled by the desires- never satisfied.
4. those who brag on others to their advantage where others will think highly of them.
The good news is that there is a better way of living-a way that pleases God, and it is found by a personal relationship with Jesus, and based on the Bible. Try it-you will like it-PASTOR JOE

JUST LEARNED MY UNCLE HUB just died- HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WORLD-WHAT A GREAT MAN-GOD OUR FAMILY.....

I hope you are enjoying this study based on the Bible's book of Jude. We had a great busy weekend with 121 for Mother's day. Karen did a wonderful special, and Janice played the offering special-sounded wonderful. Now let's get to our study.
Jude 15. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Let's learn several things from this verse:
1. We all answer to God one day.
2. God sees some things as ungodly.
3. Some things that are said are against God.
Now, the big question- how do the truths of this verse apply to us?
What should we do about it? So what?
Let's make that a matter of personel thought, and make our choices.

Jude 14. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
I have great news today- the Lord is coming back, and we can be ready.
I am not belittling others ideas nor religions, I am saying according to what I believe and what the Bible teaches-the Lord is coming back and when He does He will have 10,000 saints with Him-some of those saved up to that time-Wow.There are better days ahead for those who know Jesus.

Jude 13. Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
People make mistates and bad choices. People do shameful things sometimes. People do wander around lost, confused, and bored. People do suffer bad consequences, but I have great news. We don't have to be that way. There is a better way, and as a christian I have found the Bible,going to church, praying, having good friends, and etc... helps

Jude 12. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Evil is real. Some people are bad by choice. They don't fit in. They don't have manners or class. They don't fear God-bad choice. Some are so self-centered. Feed me. It is all about them- not. They are not anchored to the Bible. They aren't making this a better world. They are useless. They are spirit dead. They are a big waste.
But the good news is-Jesus can make us different and better-glory! Think about it-PASTOR JOE

JUDE 11. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Can we be wrong? Can we make a mistake? Cain was jealous, and it caused serious problems. He was badly wrong-poor judgment-out of the will of God.
Balaam was tempted to sell out to money. Is money our real God? Are others trying to lead us wrong?
Core was a jealous man and a complainer, and the groud open up and he and his family and friends went to hell. He was wrong, and it cost him and those dear to him.
Are we in the will of God? Are we living as the Bible teaches? Think about it-PASTOR JOE

Jude 10. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Watch those who complain all the time. The truth is we never have enough info to know what we are complaining about.
Watch what controls people. Watch how they act. Are they being Christ-like? Are they acting more like satan?
Do they live like the Bible teaches? If not, avoid them.
Pray hard about these teachings-PASTOR JOE

Jude 9. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
What happens when we die? Evidently, the devil shows up and desires our body-boo. The good news is the archangle Michael also shows up,too. And as both desire our bodies if we are a christian Michael gets it.
We have a soul- where is ours headed-heaven or hell? Is Jesus our savour?
