UPDATES
Kyle, my grandson went to Atlanta yesterday and does have a broke leg. It was put in a splint, and in 3 weeks he will go back for a check up. Thanks for your prayers and concern.
Bradon will have his ear operated on at 10:30 this am so pray for him and his family.
Tonight-1 Samuel Bible study- a DARING PLAN-don't miss this study.

CONCERNS
What is going on in your mind? What are you concerned about? Allow me to share mine, and I will pray for yours.
My grandson Kyle is headed to Atlanta with a leg fractured in 3 places to see his specialist. Bradon will have ear operation tomorrow. Need to prepare sermon for Sunday night- need to do that this morning. Dad wants to go the house-what else is new? I am thinking of 3 older ladies I would like to see later today-precious they are.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL
Saturday, my Dad fell and hurt his hip-nothing broke. He is sore.
Sunday our grandson Kyle fell and fractured his hip, and today we will learn how it will be treated-please pray for him and Michele and Justin,too. Also include nana and pops in your prayers.

WHERE ARE THE GODLY?
I Am working on a message for Sunday morning on "the godly". Which leads me to the question of the day- WHERE ARE THE GODLY?
YEARS AGO EVERY COMMUNITY HAD 10-12 VERY GODLY PEOPLE. How many do we average in our communities now? Maybe 1, 2 3 or ?
Are we godly? What does it take to be godly?
Why aren't we godly? What would it take to make us godly?

MID WEEK FILL UP
MID WEEK FILL UP- at the prices we are paying? But wait, I am talking about something else so much more important- our spiritual life.
For many of us we long for Wednesday night 7 PM- Awanas and Adult Bible study time.
Now we are studying 1 Samuel- as Saul get into trouble with God- we know how to do that.

Report on Paul
Paul did great with his eye operation. It took about 65 minutes for the operation. Dr. Renfro did well, and the staff at St. Francis were great-esp. Linda and Rose-thanks to one and all.

I am so glad to finally announce it's revival time at Refuge.

LET'S PRAY
Today a good friend Theron Owen will have a heart cathe-He would appreciate your prayers.
I go to art class on Thursday nights for relaxation.. There are some great people in there. We exchange prayer needs- last night Carolyn shared of her upcoming lung operation in 2 weeks- a mass was found and she needs our prayers. Also Fran was there, and she is recovering from a lung mass operation, and still needs our prayers.

Evil is Real
Evil is just everywhere. I don't know how anyone can deny it. Yes, God's love is real too, and it is everywhere. But Satan is real and at work and doing all he can as time come nearer the end.

MENTAL ILLNESS
Do you have mental problems? Chances are you know several who are having mental problems. Why do so many have such problems? Are we reaping what we have sowed? Is God trying to get our attention?
Do we need to lean more of Him and less on the things of this world?
Most mental problems come from self focus. Maybe it is time to turn back to the Lord.
Sure many need treatment-close treatment-in patient. Most need meds, but all the the Lord's help.

SOME THINGS I CAN'T UNDERSTAND
MISSED BLESSINGS- I CAN'T UNDERSTAND. GOD CLEARLY TELLS US IF WE DON'T FORSAKE ALL WE ARE NOT WORTHY OF HIM, YET PEOPLE CHOSE OTHER THINGS OVER HIS BLESSINGS AT CHURCH.
Last night was so special, Jonathan and Taylor were such a great blessing, yet only a few came-explain that to me.
Do I sound discouraged-yes. To not do the will of God is hard for me to understand.
I thank God for youth that love Jesus, and we should never discourage them.
Well maybe next time more will choose better. Never forget Hebrews 10: 25. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. PASTOR JOE

Yes this is my 600th blog, and it all started with doing the first one. I am glad to have done these and I hope they have been a blessing to you. I shall continue to try many different types of blogs. The goal of all of them is to point people to Jesus in some way.

I worshipped
I know it was Wednesday night, but I couldn't help myself. I was with some great friends and the Bible was before us- we prayed and then did a Bible study on Samuel's last sermon, and I realized I was worshipping God, and I liked it.
In a day when many are looking for less, I enjoy more-worship that is.
Do you think that if we worshipped more we would all be better off?
Never forget you can go to church and not worship, but I sure do like to worship at church with some great friends-PASTOR JOE

Blessed again
Last night I was invited to the WMU ladies meeting to hear a retired missionary-WOW!!! What a blessing to hear first hand her telling her stories. If you would like to be blessed I highly recommend Barbara Mosley as a speaker.
God spoke to all of our hearts as she spoke. What a special blessing. Now the hard part-how will I be better after hearing her speak?

Me study
One of my favorite things in all of the world is to study to preach. I love it so much- I spend many hours per week joyfully doing it week after week- why do I love it so?
For one thing it is what I am studying-God's eternal truth-the Bible. I love to study its truths and applications to us.
I love to share it in interesting ways-there is another challenge.
I am blessed to have a place where I am allowed to do that.
I only wish more could share in our sharing of God's Word- sadly few care-Satan loves that.
