Moving day
Today Louise and I move so our church can sell the parsonage before they get the next pastor. I will be retired Aug. 1-so to Pickens we go to live in our mountain retreat overlooking Table Rock. It may be Monday before I blog again-God bless us all-PASTOR JOE.....

God Desires to Talk with us
Exodus 3:1-2
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. [2] And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
What a great story.
God wanted to talk with Moses.
God wants to talk with us.
Yes, He does.
Let Him.

THE DEVIL IS REAL
Genesis 3:1-5
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
[2] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: [3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
The devil is real.
He is alive and busy.
He hates you and me.
He desires for us to go to hell with him.
but because of faith in Jesus we don't have to.

JESUS STARTS OUT WITH THE GOOD POINTS OF THIS CHURCH.

OUR SINS CAN BE FORGIVEN
1 John 2:1-2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Do we love each other as we should?
Do we talk with each other as we should?
Do we know we have a sin problem?
Do we know Jesus can take care of our sin problem?

[2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
SOME TEACH THINGS THAT ARE NOT TRUE.
SOME TEACH THINGS THAT ARE POPULAR BUT UNTRUE.
IF ONE TEACHES THE REAL BIBLE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT-BE BLESSED.
MANY ARE MISLED.
DON'T BE ONE OF THEM.
SEEK TRUTH.
SEEK JESUS.

STOP AND GROW

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, [2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
What things do we need to stop doing?
Ask God.
Ask others.
Read the Bible.
We may be amazed how much we could become a better person if we really desire to grow.

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. [2] For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; [3] And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: [4] Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Do we like someone because of the wrong reasons?
Can we quickly judge wrongly?
Who are we to judge anyway?
Do we have enough info to be a judge? No

[2] For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; [3] How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Evil is real.
Sin is real.
We need to be careful about our choices.
Their are consequences.
There are rewards.

What we need to be in this evil world is to be strong.
How is that possible?
If we are a christian, we can be strong.
How? By realizing how God has blessed us with gifts that enable us to be all we can be.

SUFFERING FOR JESUS?
1 Thessalonians. 2:1-2
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: [2] But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
After the cable system failed for 2 days, I am now back on-thank God and Lary.
Paul suffered to share the gospel.
People need the gospel more than anything else.
It is ignored and people turn away from it.
If you love God,the gospel and lost souls-you will suffer.
But there is coming a day when the only thing that matters is the gospel and our reaction to it.
