What Really Matters?

Eccl. 2:10. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. 11. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Why are we here? What should we be doing?
Allow me to give some options:
Read the Bible.
Live the Bible.
Be a blessing.
Help Others.
Focus on others.
Be a doer.
Please God.

Try it and let me know how it works-PASTOR JOE

Getting Wiser

Proverbs 1:7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Do we have right attitude toward God? If not there are bad things headed our way. To be smart and wise is to know God. To be wise is to be a student of life with the Spirit of God leading us.
So, I ask the question-are we smart? Think about it and read this verse-PASTOR JOE

Wake Up

Psalms 1:1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Some never learn, and pay dearly for that.
Some seek the wrong advice.
Some run with the wrong crowd.
Some set a bad example.
Some have a bad attitude.
But some love the Bible, and love to read and study it.
What choices have we made?

A Real good Person

Job 1: 1 ΒΆ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. NKJV
I use this because it helps with word definition.
This verse tells us much about Job. If one verse was to tells about us what would it say?
In the sight of God- Job was blameless-wow!
In God's sight- he was upright. How do we live? Are we part-time upright?
He had a good attitude toward God. How is ours? What is more important than God?
Job shunned evil. Evil is real, and it needs to be avoided. Do we avoid it?
Think on these matters. Tonight I speak on Matthew 6-HOW TO GROW AS A CHRISTIAN-HAVE A GOOD ONE-PASTOR JOE

Yesterday-internet down from storm

We did get rain Sunday night late, but it took out the cable and internet. Now I am back in business. Hope you are well.

My grandson Kyle went to Atlanta yesterday to see the main doctors asst. He has 2 stiches that we popped open. They appear to be healing nicely, now. I had a great day in the study before Louise and I went to see Kyle later after they got back-6 pm.

Let's study a bit- Esther 1: 12. But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him. 13. Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment:
A bunch of drinking and/or drunk men have their feeling hurt and demand respect. Does drinking ever do any good? Does it ever really help? Do we need to make important decision while we are drinking and mad?
Alcohol is so used today, but do we need it?

Update on Kyle

10 pm last night the ems took our grandson Kyle to Easley ER, he was bleeding through his upper leg where he had part of his operation 1 week ago. Come to find out that it was old blood that had been captured in the special bandage, and no new bleeding was there-so about 1 am they had the EmS take him back home. Boy does Kyle have many buddies,a big crowd of his buddies was there-boy is he loved-thank God. He was thrilled to be back home. Continue to pray for him, Michele and brother Justin, and throw in an extra prayer for Nana and Papa,please-PASTOR JOE

Why are we not sad?

Nehemiah 2:1. And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. 2. Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,

One thing that bothers me is in the midst of all the reasons to be sad, we don't seem to care. Sin is everywhere. Evil is all around us. Hatred is next door so to speak. Yet, do we care? Why are we not sad? Why don't we spend more time in serious prayer? It is scary when you think about it-why do we not care? Are we hard hearted?

Needed- A GOOD GOD STIRRING

Ezra 1:1. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

As we read this passage we realize what we need right now is a good God stirring of us and our leader. God stir our president as You did of old. God help us, guide us, and bless us, please-PASTOR JOE

God Loves to Bless

2 Chronicles 1: 1. And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
When we do a serious study of God we learn quickly that He loves to bless. Some picture Him as angry and ready to hurt, but God loves to bless.
God blessed Solomon. God was with him. And God made him great.
The same God would love to bless us, and He will always be with us. God would love to make us great.
Father, I am yours, bless and help me to glorify You-and while You are doing that also bless all who read this, and tell others to-PASTOR JOE
