Big 65

Yesterday I turned the big 65. Many friends shared my joy. Good spirit at church.
The choir did so well in the special honoring the 4th.
Karen did so well last night with a tough special.
Rachel did so well in all of her playing, too.
The messages were well received all but one point dealing with loyality to the extreme. Got real quiet.
Many went out to supper with me, and sang happy birthday.
It was a happy birthday-thank You Lord- have a good one-Pastor Joe

How to stay right

Psalm 17: 4. Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
Do we want to be like everyone else? I hope not. How can we be a better person? Step one-read the Bible more and let it become part of our thinking process-wow!
If we read the Bible more then it can keep us from living for and like the devil.
Try going to church Sunday-that might help too-PASTOR JOE

How are we?

Psalm 68: 3. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
Are we glad? What are we glad of?
Are we living right? Why not?
How do we approach God?
Are we happy before Him?
Do we have anything to rejoice about?
Are we grateful before God or a grouch?
God You are my friend-thanks-PASTOR JOE

Busy again

The last 2 days I have spent 5 hours in the dentist chair-yes. But I am doing better-glory. Today I take my grandson to Atlanta for a checkup, and will be back for Wed. Bible study on Matthew 1-nuggets worth finding.
Verse of the day-Psalms 71:1
1. In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
Do we trust the Lord? Are we confused? The answer is to trust more in Him-He is worthy.
Have a great one-PASTOR JOE

Listen

Psalms 5
1. Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. 2. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my king, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
It is hard for many to listen-the ego gets in the way. But there comes a time we need to listen-so listen. The Psalmist is talking to the Lord. Do we do that? When? Why? How much?
The Psalmist is getting serious with the Lord. We need to,too.
The Psalmist was a praying person. We need to be,too. Right now have a talk with the Lord. Do it-PASTOR JOE

What I call a wild weekend you may not. It was a busy time, and I mean real busy, but enjoyable. Visited several people including my parents at Countryside Park- memory problems are amazing and so sad. Visited a 97 year old precious lady. Had 100 for service Sunday morning, and sweet spirit was there. Love those special days. Out with some friends for supper, and that is always fun. Brother back from a tough week at the beach-right!

Hot summer-hot issues

As it gets hot this summer, what are the hot issues? What do you think about the hot issues? Do we have enough info to make a good statement?
What are our guiding principles? What do we strongly believe? What do we stand for, and why?
Are we right? Who are we trying to please? Why?
These are all good questions-share your thoughts with me if you care to.
Have a good one-PASTOR JOE

Psalm 15:5

Psalm 15: 5. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Are we a good person in the sight of God? Let's take a brief test and see how we do.
1. Do we over charge friends when we loan them money?
2. Do we take advantage of our "friends"? Do we use people?
If we act such a way, we will not change, and we can rest assured we will not worship God. Such people worship money and power.
What do we worship? Who do we worship? Think about it-PASTOR JOE

Psalm 15:4

Psalm 15: 4. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Let's notice 4 things carefully:
1. How do we react when we see evil being done?
2. Do we honor God's people?
3. Do we hurt ourselves to keep foolish promises?
4. Are we wishy-washy? Are we always flowing with the crowd? Do we have real beliefs?
Good questions to ponder-PASTOR JOE

Update on Janice- 2 hour operation-did half what was desired-maybe enough-time will tell-back at St. Francis-continue to pray.
Add 6 year old Addison Smith to your prayer list- she has fluid on her heart- she is a friend of Donna's daughter.

The 900 th Blog

Psalm 15 :3- He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
My blog is about being a better christian, and for some to learn what a christian is striving to be.
We should never talk bad about someone behind their back. We should never say anything about someone that we wouldn't say to their face.
Do we ever do the wrong thing to our neighbor? Is God pleased with the way we treat our neighbor? Are we nice to our neighbor? Are we Christ-like towards them?
Do we try to shame our neighbor? Who is our neighbor? Everyone is our neighbor. With that thought, reread the above material, and think do I do others right?

The Qualified

Psalm 15:2 teaches us part of the qualifications one must meet to worship the Lord.
2. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
So quickly we learn we must:
1. Walk right-in God's sight.
2. We must work right in God's sight. Are the things we do pleasing with God?
3. We must speak right. The truth is only found in the Bible, we believe, and do we live as the Bible teaches?
Think about these things and have a great weekend-PASTOR JOE

A STUDY OF PSALM 15

A favorite book in the Bible for many is the Psalm. Today I start a simple study of Psalm 15-I hope you enjoy it.
TOPIC-WHO CAN WORSHIP GOD?
VERSE 1. Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
Lord- a name so precious they wouldn't even say it.-Is He precious to us?WHO- not anyone can worship the Lord. One must be qualified.
ABIDE- assemble. It is a Biblical fact that God loves for His people to assemble together to worship Him.
DWELL-to reside or permanently stay . God desires that we stay true to our place of worship forever instead of looking for a reason to quit.
Think on these things and have a good day-PASTOR JOE

God can use us

You don't have to be rich or famous. You don't have to be overly talented. You don't have to be smart or even good looking- God can use us for His glory. Some of the greatest church members in history will never teach a class or be a deacon, or even preach a sermon. But God uses them to be a blessing. I believe the great call of God is-be a blessing today, now, every day, every chance you get. Join the list of those God uses-PASTOR JOE

What will today bring?

No matter what today bring the Lord shall be with me. He love me, and He cares about me. He will guide and bless me. Wow! Why? That is His nature. That is what He does.
The good news is He can do the same thing for you,why not ask Him to,now
Have a blessed day, and be a blessing to as many as you can today-PASTOR JOE
